Ihlamur Pavilion


Two buildings named Merasim (Ceremony) and Maiyet ( Entourage) Pavilions were built by Nikogos Balyan in the period of Sultan Abdulmecit from1849 to 1855 in a 24.724 m2 wooded area where high surrounding walls are bordered . BothBuildings are were named as Ihlamur Pavilion.

Merasim Pavilion was considered and used for ceremonies . It has anoutstanding arch appearance with its baroque style front steps interesting and animated relieves In the interior decorations Ottoman art, motifs and pen works preferred in the 19th century were used.

Maiyet Pavilion is simpler than it in terms of internal and external decorations. It was sometimes used by his harem.
