The Gateway of India

The Gateway of India is a symbol of Mumbai. It is designed by George Wittet to commemorate George V and Queen Mary's visit to India in 1911. Located along the waterfront, the Gateway of India is a large monument opened in 1924.

The central dome and the 4 turrets are its prominent features. It is built in yellow basalt and indissoluble concrete .
